About Sunita

Sunita Kapahi Theiss is a marketing professional turned advocate, speaker, and homeschool parent whose desire is to be a voice for neurodivergent families navigating a world that often misunderstands them.

After nearly 15 years in a variety of marketing and communications roles, she made an intentional downshift in her career to be more hands on with her children—an unanticipated but profoundly transformational decision. Along that path, she discovered that both she and her children are neurodivergent, including autism, ADHD, and PDA. This awareness became a catalyst, not only for transforming her family's rhythms and daily life, but also for deepening her own spiritual journey.

Today, Sunita is passionate about creating trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming spaces in education, faith communities, and family systems. Her work is rooted in redefining and broadening the way we consider concepts like grace, success, and achievement. Whether she's coaching families, consulting with churches, or sharing her story, her message is clear: true inclusion begins with radical compassion, deep listening, and honoring every individual’s unique lived experience.

Sunita has had the privilege of being a poetry mentee in AWP’s Writer to Writer mentorship program, a VONA/Voices alum, and a Best of the Net nominee. She is a regular blog contributor for PDA North America and Key Ministry. You can read more of her writing here and on Substack.

A second-generation Indian-American, Sunita lives and works in Georgia.
